[Filter: Private]

I still can't believe how easy it all is, sometimes.

Can't wait to get the fuck out of here. On to bigger and better things~ If I can get this much done, who the hell knows how much trouble there'll be to find further down the road?

[Filter: Karia]

Hey!

Is it just me, or has the old man been worse than usual, lately? I thought we'd have found our guide and gotten the hell out, by now, but so far as I can see, he's busy downing a couple bottles a night. More than usual, even for him, eh?

He said anything to you?
lesstalkmorebuy: (Little do they know)
[Filter: Dad]

Karia and I have got to get out of here, if we're going to make this little deal go through~ If you could keep the harpy off our backs while we get out, it'd be much appreciated~

We aren't going to get a better chance than this one. Everything's all worked out. The church buys our stuff, Karia and come back with the gold, we offload the carts and then we're free.

If we're lucky, we'll make it back before this party even starts to wind down~
lesstalkmorebuy: (Default)
Hey, Karia, you around?

I had an idea. Ain't no way we're gonna avoid the old lady if we're at this big party, tonight. So why don't we skip it? Go somewhere else in town. She won't expect it, and if we leave early enough, we'll lose her before she even realizes she's been lost~

I don't want her ruining tonight for us, damn old harridan.
lesstalkmorebuy: (No one's going to keep you safe)
I don't know why that crazy woman thinks that her suddenly finding the Goddesses is going to make me like her any better! For hell's sake, she's tireless! Always wanting to go to sermons with me, arm in arm, like we're best fucking friends or something, what the hell! Twenty years of barely having six words to say between us and now she wants to bond over religion.

You might want to stop pestering me and start worrying about her, old man. She's actually serious, here, I think.

[Filter: Karia]

Sorry, I swear, I'm trying to get away from her every damn chance I get, but she's impossible to shake for long.

I really do need your help, though ... are you up for a little sneaky work? Don't know anyone better at it than you.
lesstalkmorebuy: (Default)
[Filter: Private, in Atsirian]

Don't see why the bitch wants to involve herself now. Would she even give a fuck about the Goddesses, if I weren't playing the part, here~? I doubt it. Old man's going to slam the brakes on this whole thing, if this keeps up~ Figures. When has my mother ever not found a way to ruin everything she's able to touch, eh?

It's a damn shame, though. Something about the Holy Three just brings out the best in some of those women. If I didn't think Karia would get all fucking hysterical ... hah.

So much fun that I can't have, sigh.

[Filter: Dad and Karia, in Trade]

I think I know who we're looking for, here. Turns out there are a few women in this crazy church with an eye for opportunity~ They work in groups to break up the market rings when they find 'em, and that merchandise isn't all being burnt up in their self-righteous little bonfires. You bet your bottom dollar that some of it's being sold, and it's all about kissing the right asses to get a cut of the take.

I'm going to go test some water, tonight. If it all goes well, I don't think we'll need to be here much longer~

[Filter: Darin's Caravan]

There's only one way I'm going to get any more out of these people, and they've made it pretty clear.

Hey, Karia, what do you think about becoming a Goddess Worshipper~? It could be fun~ In fact, I'm positive it would be fun, you've seen the sermons! Once we're official, I think we'll have all sorts of access to places I get funny looks for being, right now. And just think, invites to all those fancy parties we're missing out on~

That's enough reason for me right there.
lesstalkmorebuy: (they try to catch you unaware)
[Filter: Darin's Caravan]

I don't think these Goddess folk are buying much of anything. 'Course, could be I've just got to dig deeper, someone has to be profiting out of all this. One branch of some new crazy religion can't dismantle the entire Feldri market, that's crazy talk. If I wasn't seeing it with my own eyes ...

They've got people talking like I don't remember ever hearing them talk before. The plagues and deaths and murders and all the other business that keeps Feldri the steaming shitpile it is, they've got people blaming it all on the market, running the best cartels right out of town. They've got a crusade going here to clean this place up, hah. Ambitious bunch, ain't they?

It's them that are reporting on sellers, for sure. And with them airing all the dirty laundry in their very public sermons every damn night, it's hard for the city officials to look the other way. These aren't private records that can be hidden, it's all right out there for the common folk to hear about, night after night after night.

Where's it all going? Damned if I know. Confiscated and shipped off, but you can bet someone's making a damned profit on it.

This ain't good at all.
lesstalkmorebuy: (They glitter and glimmer)
[Filter: Karia]

So, girl.

Anything I can do to cheer you up, any? Sittin' in here listening to the harpy screech at us probably ain't helping, eh? You want to go out, maybe?
lesstalkmorebuy: (Little do they know)
[Filter: Private, in Atsirian]

Oh, this is going to be amazing.

I don't think I've ever looked forward to Feldri, before~ Well played, old man. The look on her face alone, hah. I wonder if she'll just wither like the dried up old bat she is, and blow away on the dunes, for us~

Nice thought.

Shouldn't be long, now~
lesstalkmorebuy: (No one's going to keep you safe)
You're looking a lot better, lately, Karia. We're not gonna try and rush you or nothing, and you know that, but we've still got Feldri waiting for us out there, eh?

Faster we get there, faster we can move on to somewhere we actually want to be!

You think you could deal with the ride there, yet, or do you need some more time?
lesstalkmorebuy: (put it past you far behind)
[Filter: Dad, Zahra and Karia]

They searched through the boat. Nothing. No one but the crew left on it. No outsiders, no ... no Brett.

... It feels wrong to just move on, without ... knowing, for sure, but old Captain Jack's been making noises, he wants us gone. Doesn't want to see us again, either.

At least Karia's alive.

I don't know what I'd do if ... well. She might be reading, now, not sure. Won't embarass her too much, heh. ...

... Welcome to Kavan, I guess. What do we do, now? Karia's still not fit to be moving around, much ...
lesstalkmorebuy: (No one knows how I'm a devil in disguise)
She's going to be all right.

Even the captain's healer says so, and he was always the one shaking his head and going on and on about how hopeless it was, wasn't he? Even he said it, today, she's pulling through. The worst of it's all behind her. She might even wake up before we dock in at Kavan. She might not be ... all herself, not for awhile, but we can deal with that, can't we?

I can deal with that.

I told you all she'd be all right. Didn't I say so??

[Filter: Private]

The only question is, who is going to consider this bad news~?

I'd be very interested in knowing the answer to that~
lesstalkmorebuy: (put it past you far behind)
[Filter: Private, in Atsirian]

Close. That was close. How anyone could be that good, I can't say. Girl was piss drunk off her ass and the healer says he'd consider it a miracle to hear a sober person noticed it. Azshara's tears, scentless, near tasteless ... how did she know?

She still might not make it. We've still got a long way to Kavan, even with the captain giving it all he's got for us. But if she's not dead yet, she's got a chance, eh?

I'm impressed ~

[Filter: Public]

I got her to keep down a little more water, today. Ship's healer says if we can't get water into her, it'll kill her no matter what happens with the rest.

Looks like a skeleton. Just wasted away to nothing, and it's only been a few days. It's burning right through her, but she's always been a fighter. She'll pull through. I know she will.
lesstalkmorebuy: (It'll chew you up and spit you out)
ok ok okay FUCKERS here it comes I'm gonna do it

eighteen

almos t went y eight yeah ? close nough

you watching this brett?? ready karia lets go ONE TWO

[there's a long pause here]

wait, what' s ... what's wrong with .. --

what did she say?

what's wrong with karia? did she say what I thought she ...
lesstalkmorebuy: (put it past you far behind)
So, what is this, then, some kind of -- game?

Another message for the messenger, really? Not very fucking subtle, whoever you are. And I know you're on here. Who is it, then? Who the fuck is it that you actually think is involved in your shit, because I can tell you right now, I know my people, and you're wrong. You're fucking wrong and you need to leave us the fuck alone!
lesstalkmorebuy: (They glitter and glimmer)
[Filter: Brett]

Hey, so~ Sorry if this is awkward, or anything, I know you've got your walls and you like 'em high, but you're the only one I've got to talk to about this around here. Seriously, anyway.

Have you noticed Karia acting ... odd, since we left Rechesa?

At first I thought it must have just been -- you know, what happened there, it really brings back memories for her. She used to be involved in some heavy stuff in Norey, and it don't seem to matter how many times I tell her she's put all that behind her. Especially after Tyrane ... she just never believes it. Tells me she does, sure, then stuff like this happens and it's right back to old instincts Karia, sniffing everything she drinks and looking for killers in the corners while we're out on our little dates and she gets so clingly, I love that girl, but I can't handle the clingy~ She thinks it's gonna be me, next. I know she does, much as she goes out of her way to never say it.

I know you and her haven't been getting on fantastic lately, but -- Dad would just tell me to lighten up and put all that nasty business out of my head. Well, maybe you'll tell me the same thing, who knows~

I just don't know what to do when she gets like this. She tells me she's aired all her dirty laundry out for me, already, but I always feel like there's some big secret part of her I just can't touch.
lesstalkmorebuy: (see right through your smile)
Bet you're feeling real smug about having us speed our asses here, now, eh, old man? A whole week for a ship, hah.

[Filter: Private, in Atsirian]

And if we have to wait, well~ We might as well make sure we aren't bored.
lesstalkmorebuy: (Now I don't mean to be rude)
[Filter: Private, in Atsirian]

It should be more interesting than this.

What fun is it when everyone reacts the way you expect? I want something new. Something interesting. Something I can work with. Is that so much to ask?

[Filter: Public, in Trade]

After all that messy business, I have to ask. Are there any lingering protests when I say that maybe, just maybe, Rechesa's lost its savor~?
lesstalkmorebuy: (have I got a deal for you!)
FUCK YOU DENTORIAAAAAA
lesstalkmorebuy: (put it past you far behind)
[Filter: Darin's Group]

Okay. Since the old man decided he wasn't going to be helpful, I went and asked some questions on my own. No one knows much, but what everyone agrees on is someone dumped a dead girl by the wagons. They left some kind of message with her ... but it doesn't say to who. I haven't seen it, myself, Dad won't let anyone close, but some people say something's written in blood. Other people say someone carved some words right into the poor girl. No one can really make much sense out of it. This is what comes from stuffing a big city like this full to bursting, I say.

I'm going to try and find out what this message everyone's talking about actually says, anyone's welcome to help. Might take more than one of us to get past the old man and the guards we've got crawling all over the place, now.
